FO: Bitterroot

I have never knited or worn shawls. Until now -

Bitteroot by Rosemary Hill is a beautiful and intuitive knit. I used KnitPicks Gloss sock yarn and #6 Harmony needles.

I have been eyeballing Swallowtail - but will need to learn nupps. Apparently this is a stitch that has many knitters cussing! I searched and found a video on Knitting Daily with Nancy Bush showing how to do this. Did you know the "nupps" rhymes with soups?? (I was rhyming it with cups.)

I think I am hooked on lace shawls.....

And what a lovely knit you have. The shawl is gorgeous. Well done!

I remember once thinking lace knitting is not for me, and then I tried it and I'm hooked too. There is just something special about finishing something so lovely. A wonderful sense of accomplishment too. :)

Beautiful! And nupps aren't so hard - just make sure you have a pointy needle!

I love knitting lace! And I knit a small Bitterroot in sockweight yarn for my sister for Christmas - it was a great knit! Yours is lovely! And although I know that nupps is supposed to rhyme with soups, I just can't bring myself to say it that way. Luckily, it doesn't actually come up in conversation all that often!

(This is funny - my verification word is supsi --rhymes with oopsy, I'm sure!)

Beautiful.

I live in shawls they are so easy to throw on when the air con is a bit too low.

I think I have enough to wear a different one every day of the month although they are not all lace.

Thank you again for all your lovely comments. Yes - I am moving on to nupps :-) with my nice pointy Options in hand.
